Back to School Parent Letter – August 2022

My Dear Parents,

Hopefully, you and your families are all well and continuing to enjoy your summer.

As we draw ever closer to the end of the summer, I wanted to reach out and let you know of that we are getting ready for the beginning of a new and exciting school year. Part of that excitement is addition of several new and dynamic faculty and staff members. Mrs. Alice Bach will be taking on the role of the school secretary and she will be beginning on August 15. Mr. Frank Dente is our new Middle Level Science and Social Studies teacher; Ms. Alicia Rodriguez is our new Fourth/Fifth Grade Mathematics teacher; Ms. Katey Novello is our new PreK teacher; Ms. Andrea Jaghab is our new PreK Assistant; and Mr. Grant Neary is our new Physical Education teacher. Each one of them comes to us with a wealth of knowledge and experience and they will be wonderful additons to our already fantastic faculty and staff.

On September 1, there will be a Open School Night, from 6:00PM until 7:30PM for you and your children to come into school to visit the classroom and meet the teachers. Please feel free to also bring in any of your child’s school supplies. It will be a great way for all of us to start our new year off right.

School begins on Tuesday, September 6, for all of the children in grades Kindergarten through Grade 8. Wednesday, September 7, is the first day for our PreK 3 and PreK 4 children. Both days are half day sessions with dismissal at 12:00PM and 11:45AM for PreK. Thursday, September 8, and Friday, September 9, are full day sessions with dismissal at 2:45PM and 2:30PM for PreK. Hot Lunch and Aftercare services will begin on Thursday, September 8. Remember that our school day starts at 7:45AM; our doors open at 7:00AM and free Before Care is provided.

Please be advised that if there is extreme hot weather similar to what we experienced this summer, half-day sessions with dismissal at 12:00PM and 11:45PM for PreK may be warrented. You will be notified via our SwiftReach Automated Notification System as soon as possible. Aftercare will be provided on those days and air-conditioned spaces will be utililzed.

Our Parent/Student Handbook has been updated and can be found on our website. Click here for Parent-Student-Handbook-2022-2023. Please review the handbook before school starts. Parents and students are required to sign-off on the handbook agreeing to abide by all that is contained within. There is also a Technology Agreement that has to be signed before students given their computers and login information.

The yearly calendar and September calendar are also on our website for your review. We are currently working on our Security/Health/Safety Guidelines which will be finalized before school begins and will be posted on our website.

If you have any questions please feel free to call the school office, 908-822-5890.

God bless,

Mrs. Carol Woodburn
Principal
