Friday Fun Facts – Jan 21st

Today marks the end of the Second Marking Period. Grades for the second marking period will be closed and Report Cards will be distributed on Monday, January 24, for grades K, 1, 2, and 3 and Tuesday, January 25 for grades 4, 5, 6, 7, 8.

We will have an assembly on Friday, January 28, at 2:15PM to announce and celebrate our Honor Roll students and present the honorees with ribbons. We will also have a short ceremony to formally begin our “Buddy Program.” This program will bring together individual older students with individual students in the primary grades. For the remainder of the school year and especially during Catholic Schools week, these buddies will pray, work, and play together during occasions throughout the year with the older student acting as a guide. We know that it will be a great learning experience for all of our children. Parents are invited to attend this Assembly on Friday, January 28, at 2:15PM.

Sunday, January 30, begins our weeklong celebration of Catholic Schools Week! We will celebrate Mass at the Church of the Sacred Heart at 11:30AM. After Mass, we will have an Open House at the school. Light refreshments will be served and visitors can view some of the outstanding work of our students that will be on display. All of the children have been working on projects since the beginning of the school year so the end result of those projects will be on display in the hallways and in the gym.

Please spread the word to friends and family about our celebration of Mass and the Open House. Your enthusiasm about Holy Savior Academy is our best form of advertising. Remember that you receive a discount on your tuition for a family you recommend that registers.

I have attached a list of the Catholic Schools Week Activities. If anyone would like to participate at the Mass by giving a testimonial about your experiences at Holy Savior Academy, please let me know. Last year, we had two families speak after Mass and their presentations were very powerful. We so appreciated the efforts of the Hettiarachchi and Figueiredo families.

Registration for the 2022-2023 school year is underway. Please submit your reregistration paperwork.

I pray that God will continue to bless all within our school community.

Mrs. Carol Woodburn
